ERIAL, N.J. -- Dajaun Drennon plays on the edge for Timber Creek Regional High, usually as a defensive end but occasionally standing up in an outside linebacker role.
In this game against Williamstown (N.J.) High, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Drennon does show his explosion in his first few steps, and that is the type of athleticism that led teams across the country to offer him.
Once he arrives at North Carolina, the job of the coaching staff is to get Drennon to play to the whistle, and make it a priority that he chases the play down when it goes away from him.
As the video will show, he is raw. And while he is not a play-making machine, focusing on his first few steps is the most important aspect of this game film. He has the size, speed and athleticism to play at a high BCS level, and it will be the job of the Tar Heels' coaching staff to get him to play with more urgency and energy once he arrives on campus.
