Germie Martin profile
Bogue Chitto trailed throughout the game, but finally pulled ahead on Martin's long catch and run down the home sideline to put the Bobcats up 32-28.
"I just had that want in my heart," said Martin. "We couldn't lose that game. We wanted to be district champs.
"I had to do what it took, so I had to to make that catch."
Martin reports that he had a good feeling when he left the huddle that he would have a chance to make a big play.
"We ran a 31 gun switch," said Martin. "That's where me and the two outside receivers switch. I told Brock (Roberts) to throw it up to me and I would go make a play and that's just what I did."
The catch sent the home town crowd into a frenzy. The win over Stringer is the latest win in what has proven to be a special season for the Bobcats.
"I feel great," said Martin. "I feel like we can win the whole thing. I feel like if we keep working hard that nobody can stop us."
Several college programs have shown some level of interest. Martin knows he will be on a football roster somewhere next fall. He is just not sure where.
"I have offers from Southwestern and Hinds and Northwestern State was here to talk to me tonight," said Martin. "I really want to go to college and pursue my career.
"I just want to go somewhere that they want me and then I want to go do all I can to help the team."
