The weekends have been a busy time for the Southern Alamance star.
He already has one trip set up after the season.
"We are going to Florida on January 3 and 4 for the Under Armour All-American Combine," he said. "Then we are going to visit the University of Florida while we're down there."
Lloyd is up to 11 offers and several other schools from around the country showing significant interest.
"Ole Miss sounds like they really want to offer him," his father said. "Oklahoma State said that they are in the process of offering – they called and got his transcripts. LSU also said they are in the process of offering. Nebraska, Michigan, Vanderbilt, Harvard, and Georgia Tech are all saying he would be a great addition to their program."
Lloyd, who has a 3.8 GPA, is already a full academic qualifier.
"He staying focused and keeping his grades up," said his father. "He is going to take the SAT at the end of the semester. He took it last spring – and really – he already has the numbers to get to into a Division l school. But we want to keep getting it (his score) up as high as we can. We are just pushing him to work hard, and to take nothing for granted."
The 6-foot, 185-pound Lloyd could play a number of positions in college, but it most schools want him to play on the same side of the ball.
"Most schools are recruiting him as an athlete, but almost every school has said that they want to keep him on the offensive side of the ball," Lloyd's father said.
The junior already has a tentative timetable for his college decision.
"We are going to try to narrow it down this spring," his father said. "Johnathan will probably narrow it down to a top 10 – then we will narrow it down again by the summer. He is pretty sure he wants to make his decision before the start of his senior season."
Southern Alamance hosts Ben L. Smith on Friday.
