Schultz Taking His Time

South Jordan (Utah) Bingham tight end Dalton Schultz doesn't plan on making a decision anytime soon…

South Jordan (Utah) Bingham 2014 tight end and four-star Dalton Schultz couldn't be happier about how his junior season is playing out.

"Things are going really, really well," said Schultz. "With me personally it is at an all-time high. With the team, it is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, we are really coming together."

The 6'5" 215lbs athlete and his teammates beat Cottonwood 52-13 this past weekend in The Opening round of the Utah State playoffs.

That wasn't the only good news for Schultz, he also added another offer to a list that already included BYU, California, Colorado, Stanford and Utah.

"Hawaii came in about a month ago," said Schultz. "I have also been on unofficial visits for the USC/Utah game, California/Utah game over the weekend and I went to the BYU/Utah game."

Schultz talked about the optimal timeline for making his decision.

"I am definitely going to wait, I talked with my parents and we have an agreement that the earliest I will commit is right before my senior year," said Schultz. "That is the earliest, but we are planning on waiting and I have had multiple people tell me to wait for the trips. Where you can go out and compare schools directly and have fun."

Schultz talked about the areas of his game that have improved since last season.

"I have definitely been catching a lot more passes," said Schultz. "My routes have gotten a lot better than last year. I have gotten faster and more mobile than I was last year. Another improvement is that I have gained another 10-15 pounds, so I feel confident in my ability to move people."

Already holding multiple offers, Schultz has been abe to avoid the pressure and stress of waiting for an offer. Something he is thankful to have avoided and has seen in his teammates.

"I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I didn't have a chance to get worried," said Schultz. "I have seen it talking to teammates that have college potential but no offers. It is peace of mind that it is taken care of. It's not over, but I have something to go to."
