After taking an official visit to Yale less than two weeks ago, Blake Rowlinson has earned another collegiate offer.

"I've officially been offered by Yale," the senior receiver said. "I was up there for my official visit a couple of weeks ago. We sat down with the coach and he laid it out for me...if [Yale] is the school for me, they'd love to have me."

Earlier today, Rowlinson received the call that his offer was official.

"Today they had a meeting and they decided that they wanted to offer me," Rowlinson explained. "They want me on the team."

Rowlinson, in his final season at Alpharetta High School (GA), made his verbal commitment to Troy in July. After watching his highlight tape, the intangibles Rowlinson brings to the football field were the final push to secure his latest offer.

"One of the plays that stood out to them," Rowlinson explained, "was when we were on offense. We threw an interception and I had a touchdown-saving tackle."

Although his commitment remains solid, Rowlinson admits that he felt "at home" at Yale.

"The people that I stayed with were awesome," he said. "Everyone at Yale is really nice. I was talking to all of the students and they explained to me how willing everyone is to help you. It felt like a big family up there.

"The coaching staff is great, too," Rowlinson said. "My family went out with them and it was like we had known them for forever."

Yale's rich tradition of athletic - and academic - excellence is appealing to Rowlinson and his family as well.

"You can't find tradition like that anywhere else," Rowlinson explained. "I'm still committed to Troy and that's where my allegiance lies. The Ivy League education at Yale has given me something to think about as I make my final decision."
