Clapp comments on LSU/Bama
William Clapp nabbed offers from both LSU and Alabama earlier this year. "It's going to be a great game," Clapp said when asked about Alabama at LSU. "The key is definitely the defenses. Both have great defenses. I'm excited about watching both offensive lines. "LSU has had to rely on its depth at offensive line after losing (Chris) Faulk, (Josh) Williford and (Alex) Hurst. It's been cool watching LSU's replacements on the offensive line - Trai Turner and Vadal Alexander - in the Texas A&M and South Carolina games." Clapp continued to articulate his thoughts on the Tigers/Tide showdown, which he'll attend. "Turner is a redshirt freshman, and Alexander is a true freshman. They've played pretty well. They held their own versus A&M. "Alabama has a great offensive line. It's going to come down to which defense does a better job of shutting down the other offense." What is Clapp hearing from the respective staffs of the Tigers and Crimson Tide? "They both tell me I'm a top priority," he said. "They want the chance to coach me in college and make me a better player; they feel I can help make their programs better." Tonight, Clapp and his teammates at Brother Martin have their backs against the wall against Archbishop Rummel. Brother Martin must upset undefeated Rummel to make the playoffs. "I'm focused on this game," Clapp said. "Rummel is the number one team in the state. We need to do the little things well and avoid mistakes. We need to make sure that we're solid on offense. "We want to control the clock where we don't let Rummel's offense on the field as much as possible. Damian Williams, the Rummel quarterback, makes a lot of plays."
