Dawson Getting Close

The High School football playoff season is in full effect for many of the nation's top underclassmen. Scout.com caught up with a few players all recruiting fans should pay close attention to moving forward as NSD 2013 approaches.

Stanley Williams, Delvin Purifoy, Nick Chubb, Duke Dawson, Devin Hayes, Colt Pettit, Tony James, Llyod Tubman and Richard Yeargin III spoke with Scout.com for the latest.

Stanley Williams:

"I have 98 carries 1,348 rushing yards 18 touchdowns 2 receptions 27 yards and we play this Friday for the first round of playoffs and it's a great season playing in my first ever playoff game in my high school career."

Delvin Purifoy:

"We made it to the playoffs I've done good by making big plays need to work on conditioning FSU Saturday no disappointment yet."

Nick Chubb:

"I need to improve on footwork and my pad level gets too high sometime. I speak with Lance Thompson from Alabama every Thursday night and Mark Pantoni from Ohio State every now and then. I went to Auburn last Saturday and this Saturday I'm going to Tennessee."

Duke Dawson:

"My season was alright we went 6-4. We didn't make the play offs I made a lot of big plays to put my team in get position. I speak to all my coaches equally and I'm visiting Florida and Florida State this Saturday."Devin Hayes:

"We're in the state semi finals this Friday. Done well avoiding pocket trouble but need to get better with managing down and distance. Haven't talked to any coaches lately and no trips coming up. The Oregon and Kansas State losses in the same night were a big impact."

Colt Pettit:

"Season went really well.. We went to the regional's and lost by one point, with the other team having two interceptions for td's late in the fourth.. I feel like I got better at one on one blocking and my defense play.. I've been talking to duke about every week."

Tony James:

"We won our playoff game and going to next round. I need to get in better condition and develop as a back. Big surprises to me would be Alabama lost to Texas A&M. The biggest disappoint to me would be Oregon lost I was really going for them to win."

Richard Yeargin:

"Season went well, ended Friday after the first round to American heritage Delray, 30 to 14 . I finish the season with 11sacks , over a lot of tackles, nothing planned right now but playing basketball and focused on school, All the recruiting has been good , Georgia Tech and UCLA are recruiting me the hardest."

Lloyd Tubman:

"We finished season with a 3 and 8 record, we went to the first round of the playoffs and a make it through, individually I finish with 89 tackles and 23 sacks season. on the field, I was represented as the captain and later on defense. I love and care about my school and team. I made first team all district and it's possible for me to get all state as well. my junior season at Seneca high school was really great individually. there's more to come from Lloyd Tubman at Seneca high school defensive/end. WKU defensive coach went to my playoff game to see me play."
