Mayfield High School won a ninth state title by scoring on eight of its first 10 possessions before there was a running clock. Jonathan Jackson had 334 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns to go with five tackles.
WRAP-UP: It didn’t take the Cardinals long to establish themselves, scoring on the third offensive play from scrimmage. The Cardinals scored eight times with six of the drive being two minutes or less and the longest scoring drive 2:44.
