Wright talks about dismissal

USF linebacker commit Mitchell Wright talks about the Skip Holtz firing from earlier today.

Linebacker Mitchell Wright (Tampa, Fla./Plant) is saddened that he will not get the opportunity to play for Skip Holtz. But at the same time he says that he's still a Bull and is South Florida bound.

"I really liked coach Holtz a lot as a person and guy," Wright said. "I am sad to hear what happened. I was hoping that they would give him at least one more year and see how things went. I really wanted to be around him and be coached by him. But I understand that this is a business.

"As far as I am concerned though I am still committed to USF. That's is where I am going. I will go there and do my best."

Wright says that he has not been contacted by any other teams leading up to today's coaching change in Tampa.

"And that's fine with me," Wright said. "I have no problem with that. Like I said, I am going to USF unless they [new coach] don't want me."

Wright and Plant's season ended in round two of the playoffs with a loss to Orlando Dr. Phillips. This three-star outside linebacker finished with 10 sacks.
