Three-star RB Kani Benoit from Phoenix Thunderbird now has ten D1…
Benoit Talks CSU
Phoenix (Ariz.) Thunderbird RB Kani Benoit has seen a dramatic rise in his recruitment over the past six months. He helped Thunderbird to an 8-4 record after rushing for 2,260 yards and 36 scores and as a result has climbed up recruiting boards and now holds ten scholarship offers.Utah State, UNLV, Toledo, Colorado State, Wyoming, Idaho, New Mexico State, North Dakota, North Dakota State and South Dakota State have all offered Benoit but it was CSU that hosted him on his first official visit this weekend. Benoit talks with FoxSportsNext about his visit."The visit was great," he says. "I enjoyed it a lot. They have great coaches and the environment was awesome."He continues, "I would rate the visit an eight out of ten. My favorite parts of the visit were all of the big time renovations, a new stadium, new training facility and the new Under Armour uniforms."Coach McElwain also seemed to impress the 5-11 200 pound Benoit. "I had a chance to meet with Coach one on one, he's a real cool guy. He explained that they really want me there and he talked about the direction they are trying to go. He talked about being able to get the talent they need to compete at that level."As of now, Benoit does not have any other official visits set but does not plan on committing anytime soon. "I can see myself playing at CSU but I have to see what happens in these next few weeks before I can make my decision."
