Joey Reynolds profile
"Running the football is what we do," said Reynolds. "It is illegal to pass at Picayune.
"We put forth a lot of effort in practice everyday.
"It's just contact all day every day and that's how we run it.
"I suppose it's always going to be that way as long as Coach Lee is there."
Reynolds reports that the Maroon Tide's efforts are not limited to the practice field.
"We give 110% in the weight room everyday," said Reynolds. "If we didn't put all that work in, we wouldn't have won the state championship last year and we wouldn't have gone as far as we did this year.
"We made it up to #1 again this year. It takes the weight room and a lot of discipline to have the type of success we have had these last couple of years."
Reynolds learned of his selection to the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game from a former player who notified him by text message that he made it.
"This is amazing," said Reynolds. "I never really had dreams of playing football.
"I dreamed of being a pitcher like my dad.
"I got the chance to play football my tenth grade year and to be picked for this team is just amazing."
It appears that Reynolds' football playing days will continue for at least two more years.
The talented offensive guard plans to accept a scholarship offer from either East Mississippi Community College or Jones County Junior College.
