Mississippi All-Star: Reece Everett

When selecting an All-Star team, coaches are tasked with the chore of finding the players that fit their scheme and can provide quality depth. When it comes to kickers, there can only be one. The man handling all of the kicking duties for the Mississippi All-Stars is Clinton's Reece Everett.

"I feel really honored to be here," said Everett from All-Star practice. "It has been a whole lot of fun and it's an experience that I will never forget for sure."

While the rest of the star studded squad spends most of the practice sessions working together, Everett is left to his own devices to get his reps in.

"It's an honor to be the only kicker here," said Everett. "It's different, because I'm practicing by myself.

"I have to pace myself, so I don't kick too much. I just want to be ready for Saturday."

While every team needs a kicker or two, the specialists are often recruited as walks ons with the chance to earn a scholarship offer at a later date.

Everett already knows he will be on scholarship somewhere next season.

"I have offers East Mississi, Hinds, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Alabama A&M and Alcorn," said Everett. "I really haven't even thought about making a decision yet.

"I am doing a lot of praying about it and God will take me where he wants me to go."
