Florida 6A Title Notebook

Here is a notebook of the participants of the 6A state title game - Miami Central and Gainesville, complete with links and video.

Rocket Men
Junior running backs Joseph Yearby and Dalvin Cook are Central's rocket men. This dynamic duo was awesome in their 6A state championship win over Gainesville.

Central tops Gainesville video
Florida State commit Joseph Yearby lead Miami Central in rushing yards with 125 on 23 carries and two touchdowns. Clemson commit Dalvin Cook wasn't far behind with 79 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns. Oklahoma safety commit Ahmad Thomas lead the team in tackles with 13. Gainesville struggled to utilize Florida commitment Chris Thompson, but running back Rapheal Webb had a solid game. Linebacker Keith Kelsey had a solid performance for Gainesville.

Thomas shines in title game
Ahmad Thomas' high school career couldn't have had a better ending. The 2013 safety and his Miami Central team dominated Gainesville 27-14 to take the Florida 6A state title. The Oklahoma commitment lead his team in tackles with 13 in the win. He remains solid to the Sooners and can't wait to get his college career started. Get the latest from Thomas right here.

Darling wins title
Miami Central dominated Gainesville in the Florida 6A state title game and 2014 running backs Joseph Yearby and Dalvin Cook were a big reason why. The two backs rushed for a combined 204 yards and four touchdowns in the victory. The success of the offensive line helped make the run game so deadly for Central, and 2014 offensive tackle Trevor Darling did his job.

Yearby dominant in win
Miami Central took on Gainesville in the Florida 6A state final and it wasn't even close. The Rockets took out the Hurricanes 37-14 behind big plays from 2014 running backs Joseph Yearby and Dalvin Cook. Yearby lead the team in rushing with 125 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns. Cook may look around
Miami Central put a pounding on Gainesville to take the Florida 6A State Title and Dalvin Cook was a big reason why. The 2014 running back had 86 yards on 16 carries and two touchdowns in the victory. Cook's fellow 2014 running back teammate, Joseph Yearby, also proved difficult to deal with, adding 125 yards and two touchdowns.
