"I excel both at tight end and linebacker. I can do both pretty well," he said. "I played inside linebacker the first two years, but they're looking to maybe move me to the defensive end spot. I can play either [side of the ball], I'm very comfortable and like both sides. I can hit, which is good for both. On offense, I get pancakes, which leads to scores, and on defense, I like to hit."
Because he is so young, contact with colleges is still limited, but that hasn't kept a couple of big time programs from beginning the process with him.
"I've gotten mail questionnaires from Ohio State, Penn State, and Notre Dame. It's nice, just because I've always wanted to go to a big school. I've been to Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State and Tennessee. I went to camps at each of those."
At each of those camps, Williams was able to compete and receive feedback from the staffs.
"At Ohio State I got to talk to some of the coaches a little bit. They were all good guys and it was definitely positive. They have a good staff. Tennessee was very very positive. The Penn State and Notre Dame camps were not this past year, it was last year, so it was a little bit early."
Williams says, at this point, he is happy to hear from any school, but he admits hearing from the Fighting Irish and Buckeyes are a thrill.
"Ohio State and Notre Dame, for me, are my two favorite teams."
