Scout.com recruiting analysts will be in Orlando all
week for the UnderArmour All-America Game practices. Leading up to the UA Game, a
gathering of 80 of the top prospects from all across the country, they are
focusing on some of the key things to watch in the weeklong practices.
- Which prospect from outside of your region are you most excited to see
(National Recruiting Analyst, West):
Two years ago, I got a chance to see Jadaveon Clowney for the first time in
Orlando, after hearing much about him. This time around, Robert Nkemdiche
is the guy I'm most looking forward to seeing. Like Clowney, Nkemdiche is
the top player in the country in his class, and I'm hoping to see Nkemdiche work
how Clowney did in Orlando two years ago.
(National Recruiting Analyst, South):
Quarterback Christian Hackenberg is someone I got a solid look at when out in Oregon for The Opening in July, but he left me wanting more. The Penn State commitment was a streaky quarterback those few days, so I want to see how he is in pads, if he has improved, and how he performs on the big stage. He has all of the tools, he really stood out to me early in Oregon, and I am looking forward to seeing him again in this week.
(Ohio Recruiting Analyst):
The player outside the Midwest I'm most interested in seeing is linebacker
Reuben Foster, whose size and speed combination on film is ultra-impressive.
I'm just as interested in seeing where this top prospect plays his college
football, and it will be fun watching him do work over the course of an entire
week. I'm excited to see Foster run the football and take on blockers from
the strong Black team offensive line.
Robert Nkemdiche. He is not too far from me in Georgia (I am in Florida), but after seeing Aaron Lynch up close (my backyard) and Jadaveon Clowney, Mario Edwards, Anthony Chickillo, and Noah Spence over the years at UnderArmour, it will be interesting to see how Nkemdiche stacks up. |
Elijah Daniel is a player I have heard about for over 18 months. I believe Daniel is a kid that everyone will be talking about at the end of the week. There are plenty of other players I am curious to watch this week but for me none more interesting than defensive end Elijah Daniel.
John Garcia Jr. (Alabama): Cooper Bateman had a great summer en route to a fifth star, but his 2012 season didn't go as planned both on and off the field. With the year behind him, the Alabama commit gets a late shot at proving his worth against the best defensive backs in the class of 2013. Will the week determine the quarterback's final rating? It should be fun finding out.
Most would go with Robert Nkemdiche when asked this question but we all know about Nkemdiche's skills. What I am looking forward the most is seeing DE Carl Lawson (Milton, GA) go against the big boys. He looks to be the most explosive pass rusher I have seen on film this season. It will be interesting to see how he stacks up against the best offensive linemen in the country. My gut says he will continue to be talked about heavily throughout the week of the Under Armour game and his stock will continue to rise.
Choosing Illinois wide receiver Laquon Treadwell as the guy out of Florida / the South I'm most looking forward to seeing. I got to see him in action last summer at the Gridiron Kings 7-on-7 and am excited for a chance to see him in pads. Treadwell has shown some big interest in some Southern schools throughout his recruitment, so naturally the buzz in this region about him has been pretty high at times, and I'm intrigued.
