Florida QB sets SEC visit
Jaranta Lewis helped lead his team to the state championship game this season and now he's turned his focus to recruiting. He talked about the latest. "Wagner, Kentucky, and Western Kentucky have been talking to me the most lately," Lewis said. "I'm visiting Kentucky on January 11 and Wagner on January 25." Lewis, 6-feet and 175 pounds, says he's trying to figure out the top school on his mind right now. "I've been trying to weigh the differences between Wagner and Kentucky. Wagner wants to me play QB and they said there's a good chance I can go in and contribute right away but I'm not sure if Kentucky wants me to play QB or another position." Lewis talked about some of the things he'll be looking for when making a final decision. "When I make a decision the key factor will be more so academics than playing time. I already have problems getting scholarships because of my size, so I need something to fall back on other than football. I think Kentucky gives me better opportunities academic wise." The standout quarterback prospect says he's expecting an in-home visit real soon. "Coach Patterson from Wagner is coming down for an in-home visit soon."
