The Midwest was well represented as the U.S. Army Junior Combine on Friday. Here are a few notes on…
U.S. Army Combine: Daniel Cage
Winton Woods High School defensive tackle Daniel Cage was one of the Midwest's top performers from the U.S. Army Junior Combine. The 6'3, 270-lb junior showed quickness, agility and power during one on ones, qualities four schools already knew he had when they offered him. "I've got Minnesota, Illinois, Cincinnati and Tennessee," he said. In addition, he is hearing from Notre Dame, Georgia, Connecticut, and Boston College. His winter and spring plans include a pair of Big Ten junior days. "Minnesota and Ohio State, that's what I'm planning on right now." The Buckeyes have recently turned up the heat a little bit. "They're showing me a lot of interest. I talked to Coach Coombs recently. He said they wanted me to come up there this January to see the campus. I visited in the summertime." Then there is one Midwestern school Cage says would be at the top of the list if they were to offer. "Right now, I'm in love with Notre Dame. I really like Notre Dame. The only reason why that is they have what I want education wise and they have a great football program." Cage plans to major in physical therapy.
