Masina Talks Army Combine
Osa Masina Class of 2015 Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton 6'4", 184lbs/ Outside Linebacker Recruiting: Offers from BYU and Utah. Interest from Arizona, Boise State, Colorado, Oregon State, Penn State, San Diego State and Stanford. Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton athlete Osa Masina headed down to San Antonio earlier this month to participate in the US Army All-American Underclassmen Combine. "It was tons of fun, a great environment," said Masina. "Great coaches and players." Masina, who is the younger brother of Utah commit Uaea Masina, played all over the field for Brighton this year. During the combine, he worked out at linebacker. The younger Masina picked up offers from BYU and Utah back in October and hasn't seen any schools join that list since. "Not recently, a couple of schools that showed interest in Uaea have shown interest in me," said Masina. "I am playing basketball; I kind of play all the positions (laugh). Like football, I'll play wherever the coaches want me." Masina was able to take unofficial visits to each of the local schools that have offered him. "Utah, I went down there and talked to all the coaches. They really like Uaea and me," said Masina. "I talked to coach Whittingham for the longest time and I felt like I was liked a lot." "BYU was the same," said Masina. "Utah greeted me a little better, but BYU knew me. Coach Bronco (Mendenhall) was an awesome guy and wanted to check on my character." Masina talked about whether or not it has set in that he already has college offers as just a high school sophomore. "It has set in, but nothing changes for how I work and practice," said Masina. "Uaea opened the gate for me to get more offers, but it is my job to make it easier for my little brother." Check out sophomore offensive highlights of Masina (QB/RB #3) in the video below.
