Ohio State made a huge splash in 2014 recruiting today, landing Detroit Cass Tech (Mich.) junior cornerback Damon Webb, a four-star prospect.

Ohio State picked up a huge commitment today, heading north and landing one of the top players in Michigan, four-star cornerback Damon Webb from Detroit Cass Tech.

The 6'0, 175-lb junior was named a four-star prospect and a top 50 national player in the initial Scout 300.

"He makes plays," Cass Tech defensive coordinator Jermain Crowell said. "He causes a lot of turnovers. In the championship game alone, he forced two fumbles and had a pick. That kid makes plays."

Crowell says the Buckeyes are making a splash.

"They aren't messing around," he explained. "I didn't think they were going to let him leave without saying yes."

Not only is Crowell the defensive coordinator, but he works specifically with the defensive backs, and says as good as he is, his best days are still ahead of him.

"A lot of his stuff is natural ability. He's only been playing corner for like a year, so he'll be a lot better next year playing with Max Ex, going to help him out a lot, help him work out technical stuff. He's still raw."
