Ohio State is eligible again and loading up with talent.
Vonn Bell, the No. 2 safety in Scout.com's rankings, picked the Buckeyes on Wednesday, adding a boost to an already talented class.
Bell lives in Georgia and also had Alabama and Tennessee in his finalists, but he chose to go north to play for Urban Meyer in Columbus.
"He's a winner wherever he goes," Bell said of Meyer. "He has the history."
Ohio State went 12-0 last season but was ineligible for postseason play due to NCAA sanctions. The bowl ban is now over.
"We're on a mission," Bell said. "We want to do something special."
Bell mentioned a desire to win national championships, a goal that most Buckeyes fans share and that seems attainable in light of last season's success.
Ohio State entered the day with the No. 2 recruiting class and could end the day in the top spot depending on how the day goes.
Bell joins linebacker Mike Mitchell, defensive end Joey Bosa and wide receiver Jalin Marshall as five-star signees for the Buckeyes.
