Wells Enjoys Starkville

Brandon Wells put the first wheel on the Mississippi State recruiting wagon for the 2013 signing class. Wells has maintained his allegiance throughout the process. This weekend the fleet footed All-Stater and his mother took an official visit to Starkville to get better acquainted with the campus.

"I had a great visit," said Wells. "My mama came with me and she really liked everything.

"We got to meet with all of the coaches and see the campus and everything.

"I really liked it."

Wells was able to get to know the lay of the land thanks in large part to a familiar face, A.J.Jefferson.

"A.J. was my host and I already knew him," said Wells. "We had a good time and he showed me around and introduced me to everybody.

"We had a lot of fun with everything."

Wells reports that the highlight of the guided tour was the new campus jewel, the Seal Complex.

"The new facility is just awesome," said Wells. "It's big and it has everything in it.

"They told us it had 89 TVs in it.

"I can't wait to get in there and use everything."

Several of Wells' All-Star teammates were on hand during the weekend, so the visit was a bit of a reunion.

"It was so much fun having everybody together again," said Wells. "We had a great time just hanging out and being together.

"I am looking forward to getting up there with everybody."

Wells was originally recruited as an athlete and that label still applies.

"They are still talking about me being an athlete," said Wells. "I talked with Coach Hughes about everything and we're going to figure out where I fit best when I get into training camp.

"It doesn't matter to me. I just want to be able to play and help the team."
