Kyle Kempt, an early commitment to Cincinnati is currently on an official visit to Oregon State. He was offered a scholarship by the Beavers and didn't waste much time in jumping on it.
"Oregon State just felt like the best place for me," Kempt texted moments ago. "I had a gut feeling it would be even before the visit. I'm extremely happy to be a part of Beaver nation and represent the University in a great way."
Kempt is a big quarterback with a nice upside to him. He has elite level arm strength and can get the ball down the field. He had a big senior season throwing for 3,056 yards and 32 touchdowns and will fit in very well in the Beavers pro-style offense.
Kempt is originally from Oregon and grew up in Portland. He took an unofficial visit to Oregon State when he was a sophomore and that familiarity was another plus in his decision.
"I saw a lot of familiar faces on my trip," Kempt said. "I was just really comfortable there and I really like the coaching staff. It's a great fit for me, football wise and every other area. It has been an interesting recruitment for sure but I'm thrilled to be a Beaver and thank God for the opportunity."
Kempt originally committed to the Bearcats but decided to open things up after former head coach Butch Jones left for Tennessee.
