Five-star inside linebacker Reuben Foster will take an official visit to San Diego State on Tuesday.…
How's Foster feeling about UGA now?
"It was great to get back up to Georgia," Reuben Foster told Scout as he left on Sunday. "I have been there so many times, I know most of the people there, and it was fun again this time." One of the people Foster spent much of the weekend with is close friend Tray Matthews. The two have known each other for years and Matthews just enrolled at UGA in January. The talented safety was working Foster again like he has for the last year. "Oh yeah, Tray was working me and recruiting me to Georgia. He was my host, so I was around him all of the time and it was great to hang out with him again. He is a real Georgia boy now and he is part of Georgia. He really wants me up there with him and it would be great to play with him. "He was really talking to me about Georgia, what it is like there, being around the people there, and just how he loves it all. He knows it is my decision, but he told me Georgia is the place to be." The Dawgs are in a fight with Alabama and Auburn for Foster and Washington has not been ruled out yet either. Georgia's Todd Grantham wants Foster to be the leader of his defense in the coming years, so Grantham showed Foster how he'd use him in Athens. "Coach Grantham just popped the tape in, we watched it, and it was pretty exciting. He wants to move me around, blitz me a lot, and he showed me Jarvis Jones video, and how he used them. I like that because that is my style. I rush the quarterback well, I play fast, and I liked what he was showing me." Foster knows how Coach Grantham wants to use him and Mark Richt wants to be more than a coach to him. He wants to help mold Foster into a good man. "Coach Richt wants to be my mentor. He wants to be a big influence in my personal life and he wants to help me do the right thing in the future. He is a great guy and I have always like Coach Richt. He feels he could have a big impact in my life and that I could make a big impact at Georgia." The 6-foot-1, 245 pound five-star linebacker out of Auburn, Ala. has now taken official visits to Alabama, Georgia, and Washington. Foster has been committed to Alabama and Auburn in the past with Georgia always hanging around. What is his interest like in UGA now? "I have high interest in Georgia," he said. "I like them, they are in play for me, and I am thinking about them a lot. I had a great visit." His mother (Inita Paige) visited Athens for the first time and she left feeling like her son. "She really liked it. She did not really know about Georgia and I think she has been up and down with them, but the coaches spent a lot of time with her this weekend, and she is feeling very good about Georgia now." Mark Richt will be in the home of Foster on Tuesday night, then Foster will take an official visit to Auburn next weekend. He is expected to make his decision before Signing Day. var VideoMediaID = "1146169" var VideoStillImageID = "959597" var MediaDir = "http://video.scout.com/media/"; var VideoURL = MediaDir + "video/flv/" + parseInt( VideoMediaID / 10000 ) + "/" + VideoMediaID + ".flv"; var ImageURL = MediaDir + "image/" + parseInt( VideoStillImageID / 10000 ) + "/" + VideoStillImageID + ".jpg"; var so = new SWFObject ('http://cdn-cms.scout.com/swf/flvplayer.swf','mpl','425','340','8'); so.addParam ('allowscriptaccess','always'); so.addParam ('allowfullscreen','true'); so.addVariable ('height','340'); so.addVariable ('width','425'); so.addVariable ('file',VideoURL); so.addVariable ('image',ImageURL); so.addVariable ('backcolor','0x000000'); so.addVariable ('frontcolor','0xFFFFFF'); so.addVariable ('lightcolor','0x00FF00'); so.addVariable ('screencolor','0x000000'); so.addVariable ('logo','http://media.scout.com/media/a/_network/mediaplayer/scoutTVlogo.png'); so.addVariable ('showstop','true'); so.write ('player'); Chad Simmons is currently a National Recruiting Analyst for FOX Sports/Scout.
