Signing Day Snapshot: Oklahoma State

In this Oklahoma State National Signing Day Snapshot takes a look at the Top Prospect, The Sleeper, The Late Addition and The One Who Got Away.

Top Prospect

The top-rated prospect in the class is Wylie (Texas) East High wide receiver formed half of the Twin Towers combo in high school with teammate Quan Jones, but did not share the spotlight much. He grabbed 26 touchdown passes as a senior and had a huge breakout year earning an invite to the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. He is a big-framed vertical threat with athleticism and good hands.

The Sleeper

Keep an eye on the defensive back signees here. Both Jerel Morrow and Tre Flowers have great potential once they hit the college training room, but Killen (Texas) High's Deric Robertson gets even less run and is rated lower than both of the aforementioned, but actually easily has the more college ready frame. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder is as rocked up as any prospect you will find and has some great ball skills and change of direction.

The Late Addition

Joining his teammate and practice rival is Hurst (Texas) L.D. Bell defensive end Vili Leveni, who is looking forward to at least four more years of practice combat against offensive tackle Jesse Robinnson. Leveni is a bog-bodied defensive lineman who could possibly even grow in to an interior position as he matures even more. He has wide hips and a great frame, but most importantly gets after it each and every snap. A high-motor player.

The One Who Got Away

Fred Ross, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver from Tyler (Texas) John Tyler was the first player to issue his commitment to OSU, but come signing day he would end up inking with Mississippi State. He was the highest rated commit on the list, so his change of heart is a stinger, but the impact of Ateman could help ease that blow. Recommended Stories
