In this Oklahoma State National Signing Day Snapshot takes a look at the Top Prospect, The Sleeper, The Late Addition and The One Who Got Away.

The Top Prospect

The top-rated prospect in the class is Arlington (Texas) Martin High athlete Kyle Hicks. At 5-foot-10, 195 pounds the 4-star will be entering the program as a running back, but his versatility and speed would allow him to play wide out or even defense if need be. He has an extra gear and explosion that allows him to make big plays with the ball in his hands, but his most admirable attribute may be his change of direction. He can cut on a dime and not lose any speed while doing so.

The Sleeper

It is a balanced class, but Frisco (Texas) Centennial’s Cydney Calvin is the definition of sleeper. He did not even emerge on D1 radars until late in the 2012 season when the Titans moved him from wide receiver to cornerback. His size, speed and skill set allowed him to lock down one half of the field while teammate and future TCU teammate Ranthony Texada locked down the other side. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder will continue to get better and better with experience and coaching.

The Late Addition(s)

TCU had a pair of pre-signing day additions in Loreauville (La.) High athlete Jermaine Antoine and Gainesville (Texas) high athlete Denzel Johnson. Antoine is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound 2-star rated wide receiver and Johnson is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound 2-star rated safety. While they may be listed at certain positions both guys provide enough versatility that they could still play on either side of the ball in college.

The One Who Got Away

Andrew Billings, a 6-foot-1, 305-pound defensive tackle from Waco (Texas) High was a huge loss, because TCU was not able to reel in any of the highly lauded in-state defensive tackle prospects in what is regarded as a boom year at the position. This one hurt worse than the rest because at one point it looked like he was going to pick the Horned Frogs, but right before going on the air for his announcement he switched his mind and stayed home to play for Baylor in Waco.
