Dee Liner announced for Alabama on ESPN Wednesday afternoon, completing a recruitment that many saw coming.
The four-star defensive tackle tried to make things interesting down he stretch, but a pair of visits to Tuscaloosa in January all but gave it away.
"I have decided to attend the University of Alabama," Liner announced on ESPNU before an auditorium full of cheers. "The process has been fun but it's a blessing come true.
"...Alabama competes for championships every year and they put people in the league, but it's about my education and getting on my grind."
Before announcing, Liner read from a prepared statement.
"I learned a lot about the process," he admitted. "When I discussed this decision with those close to me, I knew I wanted to be at a school that competes for championships each year at the highest level.
"But I also wanted to go to a place where I would be pushed to be the best person I could be to reach my potential both athletically and athletically."
Tuscaloosa it is for the 6-foot-3, 281-pounder.
Liner is ranked the No. 8 defensive tackle prospect on FOX Sports NEXT/Scout.com
