Detroit Country Day (Mich.) junior running back Richard Wilson discusses his initial scholarship offer, one from an in-state school.

Detroit Country Day junior running back Richard Wilson received exciting news this week, as he picked up his first scholarship offer of the process.

"I got offered by Central Michigan," the 5'11, 198-lb Wilson said, "and I'm the only running back they will recruit."

The Chippewas had some juniors on campus recently, but Wilson wasn't able to make it.

"I haven't visited, but the coach as visited my school a few times and saw me work out."

Wilson has interest coming from several other programs as well. In the coming weeks, he is hoping to get out to Mount Pleasant and see some of the others as well.

"I'll go visit [Central Michigan] soon and I will be visiting Ball State, Michigan State and Pittsburgh."

Even as he visits other schools, he will not forget who was first.

"I'm just truly grateful the coach gave me the opportunity to play football at CMU. It's a blessing."
