Beneventi Has One
The first offer is out of the way for Benet Academy (Ill.) sophomore quarterback Jack Beneventi, who picked up an offer from Western Michigan. "Getting my first offer was very surreal," Beneventi said. "I couldn't believe that I had my first offer. I was grateful to receive and offer from Western Michigan." He added, "The coaches told my coach they were offering me, that is how I found out." The recruiting process is one that Beneventi has been enjoying, but nothing was quite like the feeling of his first offer. "The most exciting part of the recruiting process is receiving an offer so far," Beneventi said. "But it is also exciting to visit campuses, like when I went to Notre Dame a few times this fall." And as for what Beneventi thought of his visits to South Bend? "I really like their football complex and have been getting to know Coach Martin very well," Beneventi said. "He is a great guy." All in all, Western Michigan pulling the trigger is something that Beneventi won't soon forget. "It feels great to have an offer," Beneventi said. "It really is a dream come true, and I think it opens a lot of doors for the future." Speaking of the future, Beneventi has plenty of visits planned for the off-season. "I am planning on visiting Illinois, Notre Dame, and several other schools this summer," Beneventi said. And there are several things that Beneventi is looking forward to about those visits. "I am interested in seeing more of each of the campuses when I visit and the football complexes," Beneventi said. "I am also looking to learn about their history and traditions within the football program." He continued, "All those things and I am also looking to become more comfortable with the coaching staff." Beneventi stands 6-foot-6, 190 pounds and is getting plenty of attention from schools even though he is only a sophomore. "Some of the schools that I have heard from so far are Notre Dame, Illinois, Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State, Indiana, Michigan, Vanderbilt, and Georgia."
