Wilson to play hoops in college
As the dust continues to settle on the class of 2013 football recruiting cycle, one solid wide receiver didn't send in his letter of intent to any schools. Mc Kees Rocks (Pa.) Montour standout Devin Wilson. Despite sporting football offers from Akron, North Carolina State, Ohio and Temple - the 6-foot-3, 175-pounder is bound for the hardwood at the next level. "I'm playing basketball in college," he said over the weekend. "I made the final decision a couple of weeks ago." So as the sport changes, the offers do as well with the exception of the Zips. On the court, he has current offers from Duquesne, James Madison, St. Bonaventure, Western Michigan, Western Michigan, Hofstra, Rider and Robert Morris in addition to Akron. But others are still in the mix. "Rutgers and DePaul are showing interest as well," he added. "I don't have a decision timetable as of right now." Wilson is a point guard as a hooper and his ceiling there may be higher than one as a widoeut, he says the dedication to one sport put basketball over the top. "With my potential level, I feel like it can grow immensely once I start being able to play basketball all year round," he said. The regular signing period for Division I basketball prospects begins April 17 and runs through May 15. Wilson says he won't play both sports in college. "Just basketball."
