National signing day has come and gone, but one of the nation's top junior college players remains…
Final Stretch for Johnson
Toby Johnson profile "I am visiting Mississippi State this weekend," said Johnson. "I am going to take this visit and then make my decision on the 19th. "There's nothing really special about that date, but that's when I am going to sign." Johnson's visit to Starkville will be the first of his life, but his mother lives in Mississippi which the four star talent admits is a factor. "It kind of means something that my mama lives over there, but she wants me to make the best decision for me," said Johnson. "When I go to Mississippi State this weekend, I want to see how I get along with all of the players and I want to meet all of the coaches. "I want to see if I feel at home there. I have felt at home on my other visits, so I want to see if I have that same feeling when I go to Mississippi State. Johnson has taken official visits to Auburn, Georgia, Missouri and Oklahoma, but reports that the Missouri is no longer in the running. "I am going to choose between Mississippi State, Auburn, Georgia and Oklahoma," said Johnson. "I have a great relationship with all of the head coaches at four of them. "I just want to take this last visit and then talk some with my family and my sponsor family and then make my decision." Some schools have expressed some concern over Johnson's recent knee injury, but the JuCo superstar reports that he is on the mend. "I am only two and half months out of surgery and my doctor says that I am ahead of schedule," said Johnson. "I feel like I will be ready to go by the time camp starts, but if am not, I am not going to rush it. "I know I have a big future ahead of me, so I want to be careful and do what my doctors tell me to do. "I know I am going to have an impact wherever I go. I just want to be sure that my knee gets back right, so I can play the way I am used to playing."
