Junior defensive end Joseph Kraemer is ready to get his recruitment going. FOX Sports NEXT caught up…
Kraemer Takes First Steps
It's no secret Kettering (Ohio) Alter High School has produced its share of high level football prospects over the years. With Greg Hart (Nebraska) and Malik Zaire (Notre Dame) in the 2013 recruiting class, Joseph Kraemer (6-foot-4, 230-pounds) looks to add his name to the growing list as a high level prospect in the 2014 class. "I just watched the maturity Greg and Malik showed going through the recruiting process," said Kraemer. "They did a great job of handling it and never got big headed about anything. They've given me tips about what to do and how to talk with coaches. "Greg has been giving me tips since Malik has already left for Notre Dame. I also just listen to the advice my coach gives me." Each year Alter enters their season looking to match teams from years past by making it to state. This past season saw the Knights dropout in the first round. "It was a big disappointment," said Kraemer. "We look forward to going to state each year, but this year we lost in the first round and that was such a big disappointment." As for the early stages of the recruiting process, Kraemer is hearing from several. "I've heard from everyone in the Big Ten," said Kraemer. "I'm going to visit Toledo and Bowling Green soon and have visited Indian and West Virginia."
