Clayton Smith caught just four passes as a sophomore last season but he plays in a run-oriented offense and was only thrown to five times all season. That will likely change some as a junior in 2013.
At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, Smith runs well and has a lot of athletic ability for someone his size. He's capable of making things happen once he gets into the open field. He talked about the latest.
"I've just training hard and getting ready for the spring," Smith said. "I have gotten letters from Georgia and South Carolina. The schools I like are Florida, UCF and Georgia."
Smith has one dream school in mind, and it has to do with some family connections.
"I really like Florida," he said. "My grandfather went there and I grew up liking their program. I have visited their campus and love the atmosphere there."
The talented tight end prospect talked about what he'll be looking for when choosing a school.
"I want to go to a school with a family like atmosphere and hang out and have the chance to hang out with friends and family. I want people around me who can push me further."
