In what was a whirlwind day as Alabama hosted its second Junior Day of this cycle, it helped jump start recruiting with underclassmen as well. Not only did sophomore prospect Deionte Thompson attend and earn an offer, but he left Tuscaloosa as Alabama's first 2015 commit.

Deionte Thompson was excited to learn of his first offer on Saturday, as Alabama extended one his way on its Junior Day Saturday.

Just hours later, the 2015 Orange (Tex.) West Orange-Stark standout could not leave the event as a undeclared prospect.

Thompson committed to Nick Saban, becoming the Crimson Tide's first pledge in the class of 2015.

A 6-foot-2, 180-pound two-way standout, the sophomore has the chance to play wide receiver or defensive back at the next level. Early indication is that he may project best on defense.

FOXSportsNEXT.com and BamaMag.com will have much more on this developing story.
