Thomas visits Crimson Tide
Garrett Thomas camped with Alabama last summer and returned to Tuscaloosa for junior day. "It's really nice over there," Thomas said. "Over the summer they weren't done renovating; the new finished weight room is just unbelievable. They have stuff, machines I've never seen or heard of. "The dorms and student center are really nice. Everybody has their own individual tutor with the academic center located in a building beside the dorms." Thomas talked about the coaching staff, including his face-to-face meeting with Nick Saban. "I met all the coaches," he said. "The o-line coach, as well as the recruiter from my area, are different. Coach (Mario) Christobal, the new offensive line coach, is really nice. I like him. "I like all how the coaches are all friendly and will answer any question. It's great the way they run things over there. Everything works together." The Louisiana lineman could be on the cusp of an offer. "We met with Coach Saban," Thomas said, "and he said they're going to offer soon. I heard only two sophomores were there yesterday; it's great to get invited. "I was really excited because most (prospects at junior day) were older than me. I'm really excited they picked me to go to it." According to Thomas, his parents were equally impressed. "They liked it," he said. "All the coaches were nice to them and answered their questions. My mom liked the dorms and was really impressed by the academics." Thomas will be in College Station next week for Texas A&M junior day. LSU, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State are also showing interest.
