A year after signing with San Diego State, Williams Field RB Alex Howard finds a new home

After a standout prep career at Gilbert (Az.) Williams Field, one in which he rushed for 1,840 yards and 27 TDs as a senior, running back Alex Howard signed with San Diego State over offers from North Dakota State and Boise State.

Howard (6-0 200) never ended up playing a down for the Aztecs but has resurfaced after sitting out the 2012 season and has committed to an FCS program.

On a trip to Western Illinois this week, Howard says, "I have committed to WIU. I really like the coaches and I like the president of the school. I think I found a home here and can see myself playing here. I had the best visit and can't wait to come back."
