Brad Kaaya knows he didn't put up unbelievable numbers in his junior season. How could he with Terrell Newby in the backfield for the Eagles? The Nebraska-bound running back led the run-heavy team in 2012 but now it's time for a fresh face in the backfield.
Kaaya is a six-foot-four, 210-pound quarterback looking to make his mark this upcoming season.
"We can't rely on Terrell to make crazy plays anymore so I just want to prove to everyone that I can be reliable and lead the team," Kaaya said. "I feel like I did well in my junior year throwing for 1,900 yards and 13 touchdowns but now it's even more important I step up."
Step up Kaaya will, and he is preparing himself for success this off-season honing his skills and hitting the camp circuit.
How about recruiting contact with any of those schools?
"As of right now, Stanford has been on me the most," he said. "But Miami too. I have talked with their new offensive coordinator, coach (James) Coley a lot, he has talked to my family and I plan on visiting them very soon."
