Odenigbo On Cloud After New Offer

Odenigbo On Cloud After New Offer

Tito Odenigbo is riding on cloud nine after getting one of his dream offers on Wednesday. FOXSportsNEXT.com caught up with the Ohio native about his excitement on his newest offer.

For Centerville (Ohio) defensive lineman Tito Odenigbo the wait is over. One of his top schools, in fact a dream school, has now offered the 6-foot-3, 241-pound defender. I'm pretty excited right now," said Odenigbo with a sigh. I'm actually really, really excited right now. I in the car with one of my friends when I called coach (Alex) Golesh today.

"He told me about the offer and said he liked my highlight tape and showed it to the whole staff and they said to offer me. I'll be making a visit there for their Junior Day on the 9-th of March and I'm real excited about getting over there."

For Odenigbo the offer from Illinois is big in several ways.

"Right now Illinois is my first Big Ten offer," explained Odenigbo. "They have been one of my favorite schools since I was a kid. I was born in Decatur, Illinois and my dad got his masters degree at Illinois.

"I've been like a lifelong fan and have watched all their games since I was a kid. I'm a huge football and basketball fan too. So it's really weird getting an offer from the school you grew up watching and no matter what schools I get offers from, Illinois will be in my top three."

Odenigbo knows others may not share his passion for the Illini, however, he's not worried about it.

"I know Illinois has had their struggles the past couple of years," said Odenigbo. "A lot of kids dream of getting offers from Ohio State or Alabama. But for me, Illinois is that kind of school."
