Wrench Commits to KU

Gardner-Edgerton (KS) prospect Traevohn Wrench is among the top players in The Sunflower State, and one of the top running backs in the Midlands. After two seasons of gaining over 2,000 rushing yards, the Blazer ball carrier is among the best in the class of 2014. Today, he made his decision to play for the Kansas Jayhawks.

Traevohn Wrench, a three-star prospect, rated as the #21 running back in the class of 2014, committed to play for Charlie Weis and The University of Kansas today. Wrench has been a workorse for Head Coach Marvin Diener's Blazers since his sophomore season, when he burst upon the scene with 2,424 yards and 33 touchdowns. As a junior, despite missing time early in the season due to injury, he ran for 2,269 yards and 25 TDs, closing the season with four-straight 300-yard rushing games. The 6-foot, 190-pound RB was First Team All-Eastern Kansas League and Co-Offensive Player of the Year. He was an All-State honoree, earning a spot on the Top 11 Team, and First Team Class 6A All-State, and was named First Team All-Metro in Kansas City. Wrench is the first commit to the Jayhawks for 2014, and is ranked as the #4 in-state prospect in what is an unprecedented year in Kansas for top-end talent. He pledged to KU after receiving offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan State, Missouri, and Nebraska.
