Troy Kowalski: "2 tackles on defense. Division 1 Section 3 North 1st team OL."

What is your official height and weight?
"6-5, 283 pounds."

What is your greatest football memory?
"Starting my first game on varsity as a sophomore."

What are your goals for the upcoming season?
"Help lead my team to a state championship and earn 1st team All-State honors."

How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?
"I am preparing by working in the weight room, working on my footwork and speed and technique. I plan to attend a camp or two this summer. I am undecided as to which ones at this time."

What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?
"Strength and footwork. I would like to improve my speed and handwork."

Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?
"Zach Miiler and Billy McEowen."

Name one teammate you really respect and why?
"Bart Diehl because of his positive attitude and leadership abilities."

What are your goals regarding playing football in college?
"I want to be part of a winning football team that could go to a bowl game. I also would like to receive all-conference."

Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet?
"I am currently being recruited by Iowa State, Arizona, Missouri, Oklahoma State and Montana. No offers as of yet."

Would you consider staying in state to play in college?
"Yes."

What would your top 5 college choices be?
"Oklahoma, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Oregon and Nebraska."

Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?
"Robert Relf of Brophy Prep because he is quick, strong and aggressive."

Name one opponent who you really respect and why?
"Prescott, they might be getting there butt kicked but they always try their best and never quit."

What other sports do you play?
"I played basketball for 2 years and am doing track this year."

What are your best max lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40 yard dash?
"Bench. 375, Squat. 535, Power clean. 255 and 40 yd dash. 4.9-5.0."

How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?
"Competitive, passionate and hard-working."

What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
"Strengths: Toughness, athleticism, strength. Weakness: Pad level."

Who is your favorite athlete and why?
"Larry Fitzgerald because he's a hard-worker and a class act."

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
"Best advice I've ever received is to play through the whistle and never quit."

Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?
"I feel Ridge is going to have the best season ever and a deep play-off run."

What can a college program expect from you as a player?
"Dedication, loyalty and a player that is going to give 110%, 100% of the time."

What is your GPA and SAT/ACT score?
"GPA 3.0. ACT and SAT are scheduled to be taken later this Spring."

What will the main factors be when you choose a school?
"Football program, academics and location."
