Massiah Smith: "I had 68 catches for 950 yards and I made all-state honorable mention. I also made 1st team all-section offense at wide receiver."

"I am 6'0, 170."
What is your greatest football memory?
"My greatest football memory would have to be beating McClintock on TV last football season."
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
"My goals are to work hard in the weight room and just do my best to help my team get to the championship any way I can."
How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer?
"I am working out in the weight room with my team and running routes two times a week with my coaches. I will be attending a few camps, I don't know which ones yet."
What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve?
"I have just really been working on my footwork and route running; get in and out of my cuts."
What area would you like to keep improving on?
"I would like to keep improving on my routes and my hands."
Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?
"I think our team is going to be a must-see because I have a great feeling about this season. But we still can't sleep on any team on our schedule and were not going to under estimate any team."
Name one teammate you really respect and why?
"I really respect Nojeem Adebule because he is a great player and good friend and student."
What are your goals regarding playing football in college?
"I really just want to go to college and play some ball as hard as I can and get the best situation for my future when it comes to schooling."
Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet?
"I received a couple of letters from Utah and some emails from other colleges but I have no offers yet."
Would you consider staying in state to play in college?
"Yes, I would love to stay in state. I would like to go to a Arizona State or Arizona so I can stay close to family but I would go out of state if I had to, I have no problem with that."
What would your top 5 college choices be?
"U of A, ASU, Virginia Tech, Cal, Utah."
Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?
"I think the best player I had to play against was Matt Haggerty (Seton Catholic), he was just a very skilled wideout and he just a cool person."
Name one opponent who you really respect and why?
"I really respected Maricopa, they were our last team of the season and they held us off."
What other sports do you play?
"I also play basketball."
What are your best max lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40 yard dash?
"My best bench was 205, squat 325, and power clean 215 and I ran my 40 yard dash is a 4.8."
How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?
"I think my coach would describe me as a very coachable and respectable player."
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
"I think my strength is my ability to catch the football and my weakness is probably my route running."
Who is your favorite athlete and why?
"My favorite is Mike Wallace because he a fast and a very explosive athlete."
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
"The best piece I heard would probably was to just work hard and stay humble."
Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?
"I think next season your going have to watch out for our explosive offense and good defense."
What can a college program expect from you as a player?
"They can expect me to be very dedicated and hard working player."
What is your GPA and SAT/ACT score?
"My GPA is 3.0 and I'm taking my SAT this April."
What will the main factors be when you choose a school?
"Some factors with colleges will be location, campus, and family feel. That's probably the biggest one for me because I feel like when it's more of a family it's more enjoyable and just a better situation."
