West: Top Ten Defensive Ends
West: Early Top Ten Defensive Ends 1. Nifae Lealao Location: Sacramento, Calif. High School: Capital Christian Size: 6-5, 270 Recruiting: Arizona, Boise State, California, Colorado, Mississippi, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin The Skinny: Lealao is a great looking prospect and one of the top five players in the West this year regardless of position. At 6-4, 280 pounds, Lealao has an NFL body but shows amazing quickness getting off the ball. He does a great job using his hands to get off blocks and has superior closing speed. With his frame and natural strength, Lealao could move inside down the road and his versatility is another thing that sets him apart, he's capable of playing anywhere on theline in any system and being a difference maker. 2. Qualen Cunningham Location: Chandler, Ariz. High School: Hamilton Size: 6-4/225 Recruiting: Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Utah, Washington The Skinny: Cunningham has elite level athleticism that really jumps off the screen. He plays fast and can really get up the field. He can rush the passer, play the run and makes hustle plays when teams run a way from him. His first step is extremely quick and his closing speed is that of a linebacker. He plays with a lot of energy and passion and his size and skill set project very well to the next level. 3. Malik Dorton Location: Bellflower, Calif. High School: St. John Bosco Size: 6-3/235 Recruiting: UCLA, Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Mississippi, Utah, Utah State, Washington, Washington State The Skinny: Dorton could easily be ranked with the outside linebackers and in a 3-4 scheme, that's likely what he would play. Dorton is a natural pass rusher, has great quickness off the ball and is very strong. He has put on about 15 pounds since the end of last season and looked noticeably bigger in his upper body at the recent SoCal NIKE Camp. 4. Connor Humphreys Location: Portland, Ore. High School: Central Catholic Size: 6-4/230 Recruiting: Arizona State, Boise State, California, Oregon State, Portland State, UCLA, Washington State, Wyoming The Skinny: Humphreys is one of the most versatile lineman in the region and is being recruited as an end as well as an offensive tackle. He shows up very well on film on both sides of the ball and has the kind of frame that will allow him to add the necessary size needed to play wherever a program needs him to. He could even move inside if needed and plays with a nice blend of power and quickness. 5. Isaiah Nacua Location: Las Vegas, Nev. High School: Bishop Gorman Size: 6-2/255 Recruiting: Committed to BYU The Skinny: At 6-2, 255 pounds, Nacua is athletic enough to actually play linebacker on the 7 on 7 circuit. His future is definitely along the defensive line and he's definitely a talent. Nacua is a high motor, intense player and plays with an almost manic energy to him. He's very light on his feet, and his lateral mobility and change of direction skill really shows up well on film. The Next Five: 6. Uriah Leiataua (Compton, Calif.) 7. Sumner Houston (Concord, Calif.) 8. Zac Dawe (Pleasant Grove, Utah)- Committed to BYU 9. David Moa (San Diego, Calif.) 10. Kennedy Emesibe (Oak Hills, Calif.)
