Nathan Braster, a 6'5, 235-lb defensive end from South Side High School in Fort Wayne landed his first offer of the process from Ball State yesterday, and as it is for most high school players who receive an offer, it was a milestone moment for the young man.
"It was uplifting," he said. "It felt like a lot of weight lifted off my shoulders. This offer here, it let me know that lot more are coming."
Even if others come, Braster says he liked what he saw of the Cardinals and they will be a school in high consideration for a number of reasons.
"I loved the coaches a lot. They were great. Coach Wilt is a really good guy. He was telling me a lot of stuff about the defense. The campus is amazing. Everything is close. You can take a step out of your dorm and be five steps away from the library."
Next up, Braster will visit Michigan State for junior day, and he says there is another MAC school very interested in him.
"Bowling Green, I just back from there last Monday. They said they want me to come down for one of their camps this summer and I'm a shoe-in for an offer then."
