Daniel Lewis profile "I came out here with some other players from my city," said Lewis. "There are some guys here from New Iberia Senior High, Catholic in New Iberia Loureaville and Westgate. "We all made the trip together. We have a lot of prospects from our area, so we all came together. "I just came out here to support these guys. I pulled a tendon at a camp last week, so they told me to take a week off. "I am watching all of the drills and just visiting with everybody." Unlike many of his hometown peers, Lewis has already made a verbal commitment to a major college football program. Despite his committed status, the chase from other programs continues. "Since I committed to Hawaii, Tulane has offered and UL (Louisiana) offered me last week," explained Lewis. "I went to one of UL's practices. "I really liked it over there a lot. They practice real hard and I like the intensity they have over there." Lewis reports that he spent some time talking with both future and current Cajuns about life and times in the UL football program. "I talked to some of the other guys they are trying to get into the program and I talked with some of the current DBs," said Lewis. "Everybody had something good to say. "They have a new defensive coordinator (James Willis) there and he's a real cool guy." Lewis will be on the run a good bit over the course of the next several weeks as he prepares for his final prep football campaign. "I am going to the NFTC camp in Dallas on Apirl 7th," said Lewis. "I have a camp with the DKS 7-on-7 team in Tallahassee on the 13th. "I don't have any junior days coming up, but something might come up that I can fit in. "I want to make a visit to Tulane this week while I am out for spring break."
