East Grand Rapids has a sophomore linebacker hearing from a number of schools in 6'3, 220-lb Carter Masek, who had 86 tackles and four sacks for the Pioneers last year.
On Thursday, he visited Michigan State with teammate Mikey Roth and says it was a good trip.
"It was really cool. The facilities were amazing and I got to sit on a few meetings, which was really cool. The coaches said just keep working hard and we'll be in contact."
Naturally, Masek kept his eyes on the linebackers and was able to see one of the best in the country at that position.
"It was really cool to see Max Bullough. It was great to see him play."
While he does not have any offers yet, Masek has the look of a prospect who will pick them up down the line. Until then, he will continue to take visits and see other programs.
"I'm going to a few spring practices," he reported, "Toledo, Northwestern, Western Michigan and Illinois, so I'll be going to those over Spring Break."
From there, it will be time for camps.
"I got invited to the Under Armour camp in Ohio, so I'll go to that. I'll go to Sound Mind, Sound Body. I don't have an exact schedule, but I'll be going to a few colleges around here too."
