Charlotte NFTC: Recruiting Notes
Greenville (N.C.) Rose defensive end Kentavius Street has narrowed his list of schools to seven. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound four-star prospect is down to Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. Georgia is his leader and Florida State is second. He will visit Virginia Tech on April 13. As for the summer, he plans to take trips to Alabama, Florida State, Georgia and Ole Miss. Street said he will either make his decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January or wait until Signing Day. Hilton Head (S.C.) defensive tackle Poona Ford has been one of the hottest prospects in the South over the past few months and recently visited Tennessee. Ford really enjoyed his time in Knoxville. The 6-foot-1, 275-pound defensive lineman will visit Arkansas, Auburn, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss in the near future Arlington (Va.) safety M.J. Stewart started his spring break by winning the NFTC defensive back MVP award. Then he visited North Carolina yesterday, Duke today, will be at Virginia Tech tomorrow and head to Virginia on Thursday. The 6-foot, 185-pound Stewart has eight offers and look for that number to grow over the next few months. Youngstown (OH) Ursuline quarterback Chris Durkin is up to 11 offers and said he thinks Tennessee could be next. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound signal-caller will be busy over the next several months. He will visit Michigan State this weekend. Durkin said he also plans to visit Toledo, Stanford, California, and Nevada at some point. He has a top five in no particular order of Michigan State, Toledo, California, Nevada and Tennessee. Durkin said he has set a deadline of August 1 for his decision. Lexington (S.C.) White Knoll offensive tackle Christian Taylor said Marshall has shown a lot of interest in him lately and that they could be the next school to offer. He will visit them on April 8. He also mentioned a possible trip to Tennessee in the near future. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Taylor has a top six of North Carolina State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Marshall, Florida and Wake Forest – in no order. Taylor has offers from N.C. State and Coastal Carolina. Midlothian (Va.) Manchester wide receiver Jonathan Duhart was flying under the radar until recently. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Duhart has picked up offers from Marshall, Ohio, Old Dominion, Rutgers and UNC-Charlotte. Virginia Tech and Maryland are also recruiting him. As far as visits, he recently visited Virginia Tech last weekend and will visit Rutgers this week. 2015 Lincolnton (N.C.) defensive end Darian Roseboro said that he was excited about his most recent offer, which came from N.C. State earlier this month. Along with the Wolfpack, he also has offers from Duke and North Carolina. Roseboro has visited the Wolfpack and South Carolina this month and said he really enjoyed both visits. Next up will be a trip to Georgia this weekend, then Michigan and Alabama this summer. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Roseboro said he thought Georgia and Tennessee could be the next schools to offer. 2015 Havelock (N.C.) wide receiver Michael Bowman recently visited North Carolina. He said he does not have any more visits scheduled at this time, but plans to camp at Duke and LSU this summer. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound playmaker has offers from East Carolina, North Carolina, N.C.
