Mesa Community College got stronger this year with the addition of Demarlon Morris, a 6'0, 185-lb cornerback who was a star at Chicago's Julian High, where he lead the city in interceptions as a junior and senior before playing at College of the Desert last year.
"I'm highly interested in Indiana," he said. "They're in the Big Ten and back home in the Midwest, so I'm pursuing going there."
Morris says he would like to get back home to the Big Ten, but being out West has made him appreciate that part of the country as well.
"Since I moved out here, I've gotten a lot of interest from the Pac-12 schools and I think both are cool, the west coast, Big Ten and the Pac-12."
The plan is for Morris to graduate mid-year and enroll next Winter. Hence, he wants to take as many visits as he can coming up to work towards a decision.
"I'm trying to get to a couple spring games. I talked to the Washington coach about going to their spring game. I was down at their practice. Indiana, I'll probably go visit them real soon."
Morris hopes his scholarship list grows too. If he keeps up his strong play, that should not be an issue.
"A lot of schools want to offer, I just need them to step up and offer. Texas Tech, I hear from them almost every day and Washington, I hear from them all the time."
