Fresno (Calif.) Central athlete Michiah Quick has already visited USC and Cal and spent Monday taking an unofficial visit to UCLA.

Michiah Quick is one of the nation’s top two-way players with the ability to play receiver, corner, safety and return punts and kicks in college as well. He’s currently rated the No. 3 player in the west and the No. 13 overall prospect in the Scout 300.

“I had a real cool time at UCLA, I liked it a lot,” Quick said. “This was my first time ever visiting the campus there and it was nice. I spent a lot of time touring the campus and spent a lot of time with the coaches.

“I probably saw more of the campus then I did at USC or California and UCLA really is a nice place in a beautiful area. I spent time with Coach Mora, Yarber, Klemm and Coach Meat (Demetrice Martin) and they were all great.

“Coach Mora is real cool and a funny guy. You can tell he’s a passionate guy and I can only imagine what he’s like on the football field. I watched film with Coach Yarber and he told me how well I would fit in there and how they need an impact receiver who can come in and play right away. He has a great reputation as a receiver coach, he was in the NFL for a lot of years and that’s a big deal.”

Quick said most schools, including UCLA, are recruiting him as an athlete but he has a preference of what he would like to do.

“I prefer receiver, that’s where my heart has always been at,” Quick said. “UCLA said they like me as an athlete but I spent the most time with Coach Yarber so I assume they like me at receiver. They also want me returning punts and kicks and I’m very comfortable with that.

“Right now, UCLA definitely moved up my list after the visit and they’re in my top five for sure. In no order, my top schools would be UCLA, USC, Oklahoma, Alabama, Notre Dame and Cal. I’m going to be visiting Notre Dame in a week and a half and I’m looking forward to that. I also plan to take all five of my official visits and I won’t be making a commitment for a long time. I’ll go through the process, take my time and then make my decision when I’m ready.”
