Western Michigan secured two verbal commitments recently, starting their 2014 class off with two in-state prospects and two offensive linemen.
Zeeland West's Jordan Van Dort told Scout on Wednesday night that he committed earlier in the week, joining Southfield's Chukwuma Okrafor.
Van Dort held an additional offer from Central Michigan and had several BCS programs after him, but after visiting Kalamazoo and meeting new head coach P.J. Fleck and his staff, he decided he had seen enough.
"Even though he has other offers pending, he is really excited about Coach Fleck and the direction of the program," his mother Patti Van Dort explained.
The 6'5, 285-lb Van Dort has been a varsity starter since his freshman season. He plays tight end, but projects to the offensive line in college. He is currently ranked by Scout as a three-star guard.
