Federal Way (Wash.) two-way lineman JayTee Tiuli is eagerly waiting for his first offer, but contact is steady with a number of schools.
“A lot of schools really like my academics and I am interested in a lot of schools,” said Tiuli. “Yale is interested, they like my academics. I visited Arizona State for their Junior Day and Boise State, I’m going out to their camp. Washington wants me to come to their camp soon. Wyoming is also interested.”
Tiuli visited Arizona State earlier this spring.
“Their staff has so much energy and the weather is nice there,” said Tiuli. “The academics are good and I like their business program. They’re for sure coming up to see me this spring. I got a chance to talk to all the defensive coaches but mainly with Coach (Joe) Lorig and Coach (Todd) Graham.”
Tiuli said Missouri is another school he’s interested in.
“I grew up watching SEC football and now that Missouri is in there, I like them,” said Tiuli.
Tiuli can play on either side of the ball, and he’s open to both.
“I really love defense, but I feel like my money is on the offensive line,” said Tiuli. “I like offense equally. I can play right tackle but really any spot on the line.”
Tiuli is 6-4, 320, but wants to drop under 300 in time for the season.
“I want to get down to 295,” said Tiuli.
Next month, Tiuli plans to camp at the Oakland NFTC and then Washington’s Rising Stars in June.
Academically, Tiuli has a 3.2 and will take the SAT in May.
