"Michigan State said they like me at defensive end," Outsey said. "Pittsburgh and Rutgers, they want me for outside linebacker. Temple likes me at tight end."
Outsey plays tight end, defensive end and outside linebacker for Franklin, but he has a preference for college.
"I want to play outside linebacker," he said. "I feel free. I love defense. I want to play defense. At end, I feel like I'm boxed in. As soon as you say, ‘Go,' there's already someone over you."
Pittsburgh was the first school to offer Outsey, and now he is in the process of learning about the Panthers.
"I actually don't know much," he said. "(Last week) was the first time they came to my school. A guy named Dann Kabala (tplayer personnel director) told me a little bit over Facebook. He showed me a few pictures, told me a little bit about the program. It was brief. I just know they have a practice facility with the Steelers. That's it."
The program Outsey knows the most about is Rutgers since he lives five minutes from campus.
"They had their spring game and then you got to chill around the Hale Center," Outsey said. "That was cool. I liked that. I've been there for junior day and games during the season. I never went really deep into (the program), but I knew Rutgers because it's Rutgers."
Outsey also has a former teammate at Rutgers in freshman receiver Carlton Agudosi.
"Carlton says he likes it and I've been to his dorm a few times," Outsey said. "He doesn't say much about it. I know UVA is coming in on Thursday, and when I went to the spring game at Rutgers they said they would be in real soon."
Outsey has a former teammate at Virginia in Kye Morgan.
"He says it's kind of quiet, and it's an academic school," Outsey said. "He likes it and the environment is quiet. He said it's tough academically."
Outsey is hopeful more offers will come in during the spring evaluation period, but schools are asking him to camp to earn offers.
"That's how Rutgers is, and Michigan State said that," Outsey said. "I'll probably be going to Michigan State, I'll probably be going to Pitt and I definitely will be at Rutgers."
